This is a three-string electric blues box slide guitar, also known as a cigar box guitar from an estate sale. These instruments have historical roots dating back to the 1840s, where musicians crafted them from cigar boxes, broom handles, and three strings. up-to-date versions, like the one pictured, are a revival of this enduring American instrument. Typically made with a cigar box-style body, a neck with fret markers, and three strings. The body may be constructed from coated cardboard or durable plastic. Designed for playing slide guitar, producing sounds similar to a steel guitar. It includes a pickup for amplification.
