More information about Casio Casiotone MT-40 Electronic Keyboard Synthesizer 80's Piano Tested Working
The one and only Casiotone MT-40. This electronic keyboard was made in 1981, and features 8 note polyphony along with a bass and rhythm accompaniment. You may know it best for the riddim on Wayne Smith's "Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by Prince Jammy with this exact model of keyboard. It has a number of lovely-sounding presets, sustain, vibrato, tuning, and more. I've used it to marvelous effect in making Digital Laptop Reggae and Digi-Dancehall music, but I no longer have space for it.
Otherwise, this keyboard has a TRS headphone jack, a line out and battery or AC power (every tested and functional, batteries/AC adapter NOT INCLUDED!)
The keyboard turns on, plays keys, and the rhythm works. The pots are old and worn out, so they might need a bit of fiddling to obtain a workable volume, but I've always managed to get them to play. It's also missing some of the switch covers (as shown in the photos), and occasionally has trouble switching presets, but it will absolutely play out of the box.
