After winning rookie of the year in 1982, the legendary Cal Ripken Jr. went on to appear in NINETEEN straight All-Star games during his Hall of Fame career, winning 2 AL MVP awards along the way. Easily one of the ultimate players in MLB history and maybe the greatest shortstop ever, Ripken is of course known as baseball’s Iron Man as he played in an astonishing 2,632 consecutive games from 1982 to 1998.
This rare triple patched authentic throws it back to the 1997 season in which whole teams wore Jackie Robinson patches commemorating the 50th anniversary of Robinson breaking the color barrier. Additionally the Orioles wore “Baltimore 200” patches celebrating the City’s bicentennial. Both of these joined the regular Oriole sleave patch, making this a busy, yet fun and interesting piece.
